Tacoma mileage survey

Ken,

I have a Tundra (05) with the extened cab and V8 on flat land just above sea level. My driving is 99% local with 5 miles and then stop and go small city and I get 17 and tenths with almost every tank. Reg gas. Have no idea what the epa was.

A thought, a few years ago we had a Ford SUV with 5 speed manual. WHen we went to the mountains we got better mileage running in 4th grear than 5th. Seems the ratio was just to high for anything other than flat land. You migh try kicking over drive off when going up out the valley and see what that does.

Tacoma mileage survey

Ken,
Understand they only come in auto, that is about the only way to get their Tundra other than the work model also. I for one like my toyota's auto trans.
Just with the lockup transmissions I think they work a lot like manual there.
I still suspect on the right grade you will find the auto trans is not as smart as it is thought to be and will remain locked when a little lower grearing would benefit.

There is a reason it is made to be able to switch it off. Pulling trailer is much like climbing grade as to the work going on.

If your vehicle has the computer that gives you instant mileage reading this could be a very quick test.

I know this does not apply to anyone here but it sure is funny to ask people how to figure the mileage they get. No, sad.

I don't sell cars but I think I know the meaning of Limited on them. It means it is only limited by your wallet.

I mostly drove straight drive, until I just got plum tired of left leg cramps in traffic jams here with tourist traffic. As the sharks say, send more. The last ones tasted fine.
